CODE 75 - TRACK, TURNOUTS & CROSSINGS
This is a finer looking track system compared with Code 100 rail. The clearance between the top of the rail and the fixings is 1.346mm (0.053in). Only wheels having a flange depth no greater than 1.143mm (0.045in) deep can be used.
Most manufacturers produce models with wheels suitable for Code 75 track, but vintage models may not be run without bumping on the rail fixing.
Just as important as flange depth is the correct back to back dimension of 14.2 to 14.5mm. This can sometimes vary on ready to run rolling stock so it is worth checking with a gauge. The best advice is to test your stock through a Code 75 turnout before committing to building a layout with this track.
Code 75 can be joined to existing Code 100 track using either Dual Joiners or the new SL-113 Transition Track Unit.
