Our track is designed to look like as much like the prototype as possible and therefore has the sleepers spaced correctly and of scale length.
This is important, especially in OO gauge, as the spacing of the sleepers helps to give the impression that the rails are further apart and therefore goes some way to disguise the fact that OO is in effect HO track and is narrower than the prototype (4'3" when it should be 4" 81/2"). See photo for comparison between C&L and Peco track.
Flexitrack is available in 3-bolt chair form, with either nickel silver or steel bullhead rail of code 75 section. This is equivalent to BS95R in the prototype
It is important that the sleepers are glued well across their full width. Evo-Stik type contact adhesives are suitable for this.
For those who possess quantities of Code 75 bullhead rail, we also supply Track Base on its own for you to make up your own flexitrack.
Our Flexi Track comes either in 1 metre lengths, or cut in half (2 x 50cm). The reason for the two options re length is the cost of the carriage. Royal Mail will no longer deliver our track boxes containing rail or track at 1 metre long. We now have to use a courier for items that are 1 metre long (cost £8.50) or when cut to 500mm we can still send with Royal Mail at a cost of around £5.50.
Please make sure that you order the length that you require, bearing in mind the difference is carriage costs between the two
We do not offer a service of cutting track in full boxes (25 x lengths in 4mm and 8 x lengths in 7mm), as they would be likely to be delivered via a courier anyway, due to their weight.
