C&L was started in the 1980's by toolmaker Len Newman, after he designed and developed a small range of chairs and other trackwork plastic components for P4 modellers.
The business has subsequently been through several owners. Brian Lewis took over around 1999 and later on added the Carr's range of solders and scenic items to the business. Later on Brian developed the Timber Tracks laser cut plywood trackbase and building kit range.
In July 2011 Pete & Jo Llewellyn bought the C&L and Carr's parts of the business, leaving Brian to further develop the Timber Tracks side, which was made available through C&L.
In September 2012 we announced that we would be taking responsibility for the Exactoscale product range of track work and other components, such as wagon chassis', wheels, couplings and gearboxes.
Len has sinced joined the staff of C&L to enable us to make use of his vast knowledge, skills and experience in order to develope and grow the business, so things have come full circle!
Our staff now consists of myself as the owner, greatly assisted by my part-timers Jenny and Roy, who have recenlty been joined by our first full time employee Luke. My wife Jo is employed elsewhere, but assists in the business by working at the majority of shows. Len is responsible for the designing, development and bringing into production of new products.
