The 2-bolt chair is for those who model the GWR. The 3-bolt SI pattern represents the standard LMS, LNER and BR chair. The 4-bolt chair is suitable for Midland, GER, etc.

ST Baseplates are used with flat bottom rail on wooden sleepers and timbers.

9 ft sleepers were used prior to 1914. After this, their length was reduced to 8 ft 6 ins, although much existing track would have lasted for some years - especially in sidings.

Thin sleepers and timbering will match our Flexitrack and the ply sleepering supplied by the EMGS. Thick sleepers and timbering equate to a scale 5" depth. "DOW-MAC" sleepers combined with GW 2 bolt chairs produce the bullhead rail and concrete sleeper combination introduced in the mid 1940s.

Point kits contain the plastic components - 20 slide chairs, 140 running rail chairs and 50 timbers - sufficient to construct most single turnouts. Rail, switch blades, crossing vee, copperclad strips and templates need to be added - dependent on the turnout.

If there is a tricky part, it is getting an accurate relationship between the vee and the wing rails. So we have done this for you. All soldered up and ready to lay onto the turnout timbers. Complete with a fully illustrated construction guide, these incorporate the components required to build a B6L or a B6R turnout.

At shows we usually get 2-3 modellers who have never built trackwork but would like to try. So it is for them we have created a series of new kits. So, If you have ever wanted to build your own trackwork, but have always been doubtful about actually taking the plunge, then these are the kits for you. All you need is a bottle of Butanone.

Flexitrack is available in 3-bolt chair form, with either nickel silver or steel bullhead rail of code 75 section. This is equivalent to BS95R in the prototype.

It is important that the sleepers are glued well for the full width of the sleeper. Evo-Stik type contact adhesives are suitable for this.

For those of you who possess quantities of Code 75 bullhead rail, we supply track base on its own.

Crossing vees are not silver soldered, but assembled with 227° solder. If you plan to solder them to PCB or rivets, it is best done with 145° solder.

These are an economical alternative to the above. We have done the hard work, by milling the vees and switches to shape, leaving you to carry out the soldering of the vee, final honing and polishing with a track rubber. (Our track rubber C1600 is ideal for this purpose).

Gauges are of the roller type, and are designed to hold just the head of the rail.

4ZC101A copper clad strips provide for the same rail height as the chair base, and can be used glued down to a sleeper to provide a soldering point - essential at crossing vees and 'K' crossings.

1.06mm copperclad is the same height as thin timbering - ideal if you are producing soldered turnouts, fiddle yards, etc. The 1.6mm thick copper clad strips are equivalent to thin sleepering + chair base and so can be used alongside other C+L products. For example, you could use C+L Flexitrack for the running rails, but use copper clad strips to build your turnouts. You can then use running rail chairs cosmetically and once you have painted and weathered the turnout, it should blend in. 4mm wide strips equate to a scale 12 inches and are used for building turnouts. 3.3 mm wide stripes are a scale 10" wide, i.e. sleeper width.

Please note: Copperclad prices are increasing every time we purchase, and supplies can be hard to obtain. The above data for 4ZC101B/C/D/E is correct as at 1st July, 2008, but may vary during the course of the year. Some new strips just in are 17" long.

Please note: for the thicker material, we give the thickness as being 1.6mm. Due to manufacturing variations, some recent supplies have been 1.55mm and even 1.5mm thick. The difference is nominal and will cause no problems.
